Common FAQ’s

Pilates

  • Our Singapore-based pilates exercises for both beginners and intermediate are based on the original Pilates developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Core strength is the foundation of how Pilates works. It focuses more on muscle tone than building muscles.

  • You may know what Pilates is, but our instructors can teach you all the benefits that Pilates has to offer. There is a therapeutic and preventative benefit to Pilates as it gives you more resilience and helps with your alignments in a way that also improves your overall posture. Furthermore, it helps improve flexibility as well as toning and strengthening of the body’s overall muscles. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced in Pilates, our Singapore Pilates studio will enhance your understanding and experience of all that Pilates has to offer.

Another benefit of Pilates lies in its non-impact exercises, making it safer than other forms of exercise. It exercises the body evenly and symmetrically, which is the best way to develop your core strength and rehabilitate you from any previous injuries.

  • A common question our instructors receive is what is pilates compared to yoga? Yoga and Pilates are both exercises praised for their numerous health benefits, from offering connection to the body and stress relief, to developing flexibility, strength, control, and endurance.

The main quality that sets Pilates apart from Yoga, which has a bigger emphasis on the spiritual philosophy side, is its focus on small movements that require the use of important stabilizing muscles of the back and core. When practicing Yoga one typically adopts a position and holds it, or flows into a different position. In Pilates, you adopt a position and then challenge your core by moving your arms or legs.

There are many types of Pilates, the main difference between them being the type of equipment used such as Reformer, Chair, Barrel, and the Cadillac. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced in Pilates, our Singapore Pilates Studio will teach you more about Pilates than you ever could have imagined.

  • The minimum required age to join our studio is 16 years old. No matter if you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced in Pilates, our Singapore Pilates instructors will guide and teach you in the best methods of Pilates.
